By Jake Hutchison

We are sharing information on the Tennessee Supplemental Employer Recovery Grant Program (SERG) from the state’s website. October 7th, 2020, Governor Bill Lee announced the creation of the Supplemental Employer Recovery Grant (SERG) program, a small business relief program designed to reimburse eligible business owners for direct expenses or business interruption costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The application window will remain open until December 29, 2020, or until all funds are depleted. Funds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

Applicants are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the program guidelines, definitions, and FAQs before beginning the application process. Once started, applications cannot be saved. Awards are capped at $30,000, with additional $500 added for any business located in Low to Moderate Income (“LMI”) Census Tracts, Opportunity Zones, or Promise Zones.

For application assistance, please contact our office as soon as possible. As a reminder, the application window can expire prior to December 29, 2020, due to possible depletion of funding.
