Tennessee New Hire Reporting Program

By Crystal Mitchell

Map of TenneseeEvery employer in the state of Tennessee is responsible for reporting newly hired employees. This includes first time hires or re-hired employees. The state uses the new hire reports to match against child support records. This has become the quickest way to issue wage withholding orders. New hire reporting can also stop fraudulent claims for unemployment insurance, workers compensation, and public assistance. Federal law requires that all information collected be kept confidential.
