My Role at BCS

As an Associate at Blackburn, Childers & Steagall, I bring a diverse mixture of expertise to our team. With a focus on both tax and assurance services, I handle various types of audits, reviews, and compilations. My primary specialization lies in Single Audit (SFA) and Higher Education audits, ensuring compliance and accuracy for institutions in these sectors. At BCS, I am committed to providing thorough and dependable financial services. I strive to support our clients with their assurance and tax needs, ensuring accuracy and compliance in their financial reporting.

Education and Experience

I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Accounting from East Tennessee State University (ETSU). Additionally, I have an undergraduate degree in Health Science, which provided me with valuable experience in the healthcare industry before I transitioned into my accounting career. This distinctive combination of skills and experiences provides me with a unique perspective when it comes to problem solving and interacting with clients working both inside and outside of the accounting realm.

Community Involvement and Personal Notes

In addition to my professional work, I have a strong commitment to community service. In the past, I have volunteered with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, helping individuals in the community with their tax needs. This experience has deepened my understanding of the importance of accessible financial services.
I am a proud member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), which allows me to stay connected with industry standards and best practices.
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active through running, hiking, and spending time outdoors. I am also an avid reader, always looking to expand my knowledge and learn new things.
