My Role at BCS

I serve as a staff accountant in our three main departments. I work with individuals, businesses, partnerships, and trust entities in taxation matters through the year. With our Client Advisory Services, I prepare financial statements, business licenses, and sales tax returns for corporate clients. During Summers, I cross over to our assurance team for Employee Benefit Plan and school board audits. I assist in the training of our intern team each year and present in-house CPE for our team. My most specialized function within our firm revolves around Energy Efficiency and Electric Vehicle tax credits for our individual clients.

Education and Experience

I received my Bachelor’s & Master’s in Accountancy from ETSU in 2021 & 2023. I became a CPA in the Summer of 2023 and have been a full-time member of BCS since 2023. I am also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).

Community Involvement and Personal Notes

My wife and I live in Gray, TN. We are members of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Johnson City, TN. We enjoy hiking, working out, playing cards, learning languages, and spending time with our godson. I have been a musician since 2013, primarily focusing on guitar. Music has been the forefront passion in my spare time!

I am also an Adjunct Lecturer of Accountancy at East Tennessee State University as well as a reviewer for their free Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site (VITA) which serves low-income individuals in our region with free tax prep services.
