My Role at BCS

At BCS, my role is to prepare accurate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all the applicable tax laws and regulations. I work primarily with business clients, and I have a particular interest in partnerships due to their unique tax characteristics, strategic possibilities, and compliance challenges.

Over the past two years at BCS, I have had the privilege of becoming the staff lead on our in-house Employee Retention Credit project. This project has brought millions of legitimate federal tax credit dollars to the businesses of The Appalachian Highlands region, and The High Country of North Carolina. Just as importantly, this project has correctly advised hundreds of clients that they do not qualify, many of whom were in the process of claiming and illegitimate credit through an unscrupulous preparer.

Education and Experience

I attended ETSU, graduating in 2014 with a BA in Philosophy. After working odd jobs for a few years, I went back to ETSU and graduated with my BBA in Accounting in 2019. During the final semester of my accounting degree, I was a tax season intern at BCS. Following that opportunity I accepted a full time position as a Tax Associate at another local CPA firm. After two years of seeing public accounting done a different way, I fully realize the value that BCS offers their Clients, their employees, and the community. I jumped at the opportunity to rejoin the firm in July of 2021.
