My Role at BCS

I serve as a supervisor in the tax department, where I focus primarily on preparing tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and non-profit organizations (Form 990). I also review individual and partnership tax returns on behalf of various tax partners and senior managers within the firm. Outside of the tax department’s busy season I assist the Audit Department as needed and support the Client Advisory Services (CAS) team with the preparation and review of financial statements and compilations.

Education and Experience

I earned both my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Accountancy (MAcc) degrees from East Tennessee State University (ETSU), graduating in 2008 and 2012, respectively. My accounting career began in 2007 at a local manufacturing plant, where I held a variety of roles within the accounting department over a seven-year period. In 2014, I passed the CPA exam and transitioned to public accounting. gaining valuable experience in audit and tax services.

My previous audit experience has included engagements with non-profit organizations, HUD-regulated entities, and financial institutions. I also prepared tax returns for a wide range of clients, including individuals, partnerships, corporations, non-profits (Form 990s), and companies in the construction industry.

I joined BCS in January 2019 as a member of the tax department. I am a member of the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA).

Community Involvement and Personal Notes

My husband Cory and I live in Bristol, TN with our four cats and Old English Sheepdog, Moose. I enjoy reading, crafting–particularly cross-stitch and embroidery–and supporting Cory race as he races his 2004 Mazdaspeed Miata in SCCA Autocross events.

I am actively involved in the accounting community and have held several leadership positions within the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). I served as an officer of the Appalachian Chapter 2017-2020 and as chapter president for two consecutive terms from 2020 to 2022. During my tenure as president, I also represented the chapter as a council member on the TSCPA’s Statewide Leadership Council. Additionally, I served on the TSCPA’s Young CPA Committee from 2016 to 2017 and am a proud graduate of the 2019-2020 Lead! Bristol class. In 2023, I was honored to be a recipient of our firm’s 2023 Core Value Award for Stewardship.
