Week 44 – Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

From Nikki Cole:

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is the most widely known, largest breast cancer organization in the U.S.  Since its inception in 1982, Komen has invested nearly $2 million dollars for breast cancer research, education, advocacy and healthy services and other programs in the U.S. One of the ways the foundation raises money is through its Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure events.  Sunday October 23rd 2011, our company participated in the Tri- Cities Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. Race day is something that is truly inspiring to be a part of. Seeing survivors who have fought and won their battle against breast cancer participating in the race was something that words can’t adequately express. Our team had 39 participants who either ran or walked the 5K race, three of which placed.  Cay Greer was the women’s grandmaster winner, and Jacqueline Shade and Matthew Stanley each placed second in their age group.  We raised over $1,500 dollars for this wonderful cause! Thank you to everyone who participated or donated to this very worthy cause!
