Esther Shelton
Esther Shelton is a C.P.A. in the Audit Department in the Johnson City office. She began working at BCS in January 2009 and has worked in public accounting since January 2000. Esther specializes in audits of non-profit organizations, audits of local governments, and single audits. Some of her other areas of expertise include non-public company audits, financial statement preparation, and HUD/REAC submissions. A graduate of Northwestern College, St. Paul, MN, Esther holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies.
She is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), a former member of another state’s local Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), and previously served on a local chapter of GFOA’s Education Committee and also the National GFOA’s Special Review Committee. She is the Treasurer of the Board of Directors for Girls on the Run of Northeast Tennessee.
Esther is a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Johnson City and participates in Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) in Kingsport. She lived overseas for a year as an international volunteer project team leader. She enjoys outdoor activities with her husband Jason, including hiking, camping, running, biking and snowboarding.
