School System Audits
We at BCS believe that the accuracy and effectiveness of the financial reporting process and resulting financial statements, are essential to monitoring and maintaining educational institutions.
A school district has all of the funds that are normal for a governmental unit. However, a school district usually has additional funds that are unique to school districts. The following are funds unique to school districts:
- Student activity funds
- Food service funds
- Transportation service funds
- Community service funds
- Scholarship funds
- Federal Projects funds
We offer school system audit services to a number of different clients. We have extensive experience with auditing school activity funds. We currently service schools in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.
School districts participate in a variety of federal and state financial awards that require recipients to have an audit in accordance with the Yellow Book and the Single Audit Act. Our governmental audit team is experienced in providing efficient and timely Single Audits.
